Mixing Processes
The ocean’s effect on weather and climate is governed largely by processes occurring in the few tens of meters of water bordering the ocean surface. For example, water warmed at the surface on a sunny afternoon may remain available to warm the atmosphere that evening, or it may be mixed deeper into the ocean not to emerge for many years, depending on near-surface mixing processes. Local mixing ...
متن کاملThe Weak Mixing Angle From TeV Scale Quark-Lepton Unification
Unified theories based on an extended left-right symmetric group, SU(4) × SU(2), are constructed in five dimensions. The compactification scale is assumed to be only a loop factor above the weak scale, so that the weak mixing angle is predicted to be close to its tree level value of 0.239. Boundary conditions in the 5th dimension break SU(4) → SU(3)×U(1)B−L , removing powerful constraints from ...
متن کاملA weak approximation for the Extrema's distributions of Levy processes
Suppose that $X_{t}$ is a one-dimensional and real-valued L'evy process started from $X_0=0$, which ({bf 1}) its nonnegative jumps measure $nu$ satisfying $int_{Bbb R}min{1,x^2}nu(dx)
متن کاملOn $L_1$-weak ergodicity of nonhomogeneous continuous-time Markov processes
In the present paper we investigate the $L_1$-weak ergodicity of nonhomogeneous continuous-time Markov processes with general state spaces. We provide a necessary and sufficient condition for such processes to satisfy the $L_1$-weak ergodicity. Moreover, we apply the obtained results to establish $L_1$-weak ergodicity of quadratic stochastic processes.
